Magnetism and Electricity

Magnetism and Electricity ASSIGNMENT Rubric
Magnetism and Electricity
LT: I can identify evidence of a relationship between the magnetic field and electricity.
Lesson:  Students will conduct an investigation to observe characteristics of magnets and evidence that a magnetic field may be used to generate electricity.

The notebook entry should cover these observations:
    1.  How does a magnet behave by itself?
    2.  How do two magnets interact?  How does this help you understand what the
         magnetic field is?
    3.  How does the alignment of steel filings help improve your understanding of
         the magnetic field?
    4.  How does moving a compass around the magnet improve your understanding
        of the magnetic field?
    5.  What evidence did you collect that a magnetic field may be necessary to
        generate electricity.
